Charter Communications on Monday announced a series of deals with its fellow cable operator, Comcast, that would bolster its subscriber base. The three-part plan, which was announced along with Charter’s first-quarter earnings, will allow the cable company to expand from its current largely regional presence to become the country’s second-largest cable operator. The agreement is contingent on Comcast completing its acquisition of Time Warner Cable, which is currently the second-largest cable operator after Comcast.
